It is a wrap! A story of Impact! The recently concluded AYITI 3.0 was with a bang. For the very first time, 13 children graduated from AYITI 3.0, against my usual 5 to 20 ratio of AYITI graduates. A lot of people were moved to tears as they heard the stories of these children and their journey so far. It was an intense 52-weeks of rigorous training.

December 2021 Newsletter: Rounding up the year strong

I believe every child has an ability to think and reason – none is unintelligent. If one is unable to pass down knowledge to a six-years old child, that fellow is not knowledgeable enough. The beauty of this class lies in its diversity, no homogeneity. We all get to learn from different perspectives. A fact is, I am learning new things myself. We had an interesting activity last week Saturday. Our focus was on "assumptions". Perceiving assumption as one of the biggest source of conflicts and societal issues surrounding us, we noticed that in our day-to-day living, we make lots of assumptions which are not always the case.

October 2021, Newsletter: 2021/2022 AYITI class has started (AYITI 3.0)

Our 2021/2022 AYITI class has started (AYITI 3.0), and I am in high spirit already because this session is going to be a unique one. I had observed from past sessions that we start off with 20 children but ONLY 5 make it to the end of the course. This then begs the question; "Must all the children be A CODER"? I think not. But all children should be able to understand coding to sharpen their problem-solving skills.

July 2020, Newsletter: It is time to be frugal

I welcome you to this premier edition of our newsletter that highlights what we are up to, our various activities and some challenges that we are facing. We are living in an interesting time; a time in which the whole world is pausing due to a disease that is threatening everyone’s existence. Schools were forced to close, religious activities are on hold, airplanes were grounded, and several industries need to re-think, re-evaluate, re-strategize what survival implies for their businesses during and after a “global lockdown”.
